I have "History is Made at Night" on VHS-- I transferred it to DVD and then transferred the DVD to my computer with a brand spanking new program I downloaded thanks to a suggestion by Lolita (THANK YOU!) I could only get the first ten minutes of the film for you, for now, but it's better than nothing! Hopefully I'll get the whole movie finished for your viewing very soon :) It's on my brand spanking new YouTube channel!
For now, here are the first 10 minutes of "History is Made at Night" starring Charles Boyer and Jean Arthur.

I didn't even realise it was Charles Boyer's birthday. It is so hard to believe it has been 110 years since he was born!
Charles Boyer, one of my favourites :)
I still need to see History is Made at Night! I look forward to when I find a copy :)
I haven't seen Boyer in very much but liked him in 'All This and Heaven Too', which I need to watch again soon. Funnily enough, I have just the opposite reaction to 'A Tale of Two Cities' - when I watched Colman's version I kept remembering Bogarde in the role! Both great movies, though. Judy
I want to see this one! I looked for it on DVD, it does not seem too easy to find. According to Amazon.com there is one, but they don't have a picture of it (bad sign) and they only seem to have one copy... Weird. So I think it's great that you transfered this from the VHS!
I'm really interested to have the whole film, whenever it's possible :) Thinking about uploading all of it in parts on YouTube?
Thank you very much for the birthday gift! I really enjoyed the first ten minutes of "History is Made at Night". I gave it five stars. Hope to see the rest of it soon.
One movie I wish that Charles Boyer had made is a version of Charlotte Brontë's "Villette". Have you read it? It's my favorite novel. He'd have made a perfect Paul Emanuel. Kind of hard for me to cast Lucy Snowe, however.
Happy 110th Birthday Charles Boyer! Great blog post on him, I loved him as well in "All This and Heaven Too".
Ohh Jean Arthur and Charles Boyer, what a very cool team. The clip was very good, I hope to see the entire movie some day. :)
Mercurie- Isn't it? Sometimes I really forget how old my favorite stars would be..
Sebina- Me too :) I'm going to try to upload the whole film on youtube soon, so keep an eye out!
movieclassics- I guess whichever you see first really sticks with you. I didn't get to see it last night because the disc was damaged, but I'm really looking forward to it!
Lolita- I'd like to upload the whole thing in parts, if I can figure out how to rip the whole movie. I couldn't download the program you recommended because I have a mac (and it was only for pcs) the program I ended up downloading is a trial version, and only lets you rip the first ten minutes of whatever you're playing which really stinks.
Diamantina- I'm glad you like it! Hopefully I'll have the rest up very soon :) I haven't read that book yet, but I'll definitely look it up. I love casting movies in my head! :D
Nicole- Thanks! I love him in All This and Heaven, Too. I just wish the ending was different.
I love Charles Boyer too. All This and Heaven, Too is a good one to watch for him. Though I have to say I love him best in Love Affair.
I've wanted to see this movie for so long! I can't wait to see the whole thing. Thanks for downloading this clip for now.
